Circuit Riders
Our Circuit Riders travel the state answering requests for Training and Technical Assistance for public water systems, in the State of Colorado that are community rated with populations of 10,000 or less.
Typical tasks that the Circuit Riders are asked to perform are:
- Training operators in the operation and maintenance of their system
- Certification Review: Water/Distribution
- Developing a system of maintenance
- Helping take required tests and teach operators the correct testing methods
- Assisting with specific maintenance problems
- Testing of meters in the field
- Leak detection and line location
- Giving advice on rate structures and forming new districts
- Training on record keeping
- Reducing cost of power and water losses
- Any other service to help the water system succeed
Our Wastewater Technicians travel the state answering requests for Training and Technical Assistance for public wastewater/sanitation systems, in the state of Colorado that are 10,000 or less in population.
Typical tasks that the Wastewater Technician is asked to perform are:
- Training operators in the operation and maintenance of their system
- Certification Review: Wastewater/Collection
- Developing a system of maintenance
- Helping take required tests and teach operators the correct testing methods
- Assisting with specific maintenance problems
- Testing of electronics in the field
- Collection System Maintenance
- Giving advice on rate structures and forming new districts

What is the Energy Efficiency Assessment (EEAP)?
- Review pumping operations with staff and discuss alternatives to Save Energy Ensures all approaches to conserve water and energy are in place.)
- Review electric bills to ensure best rates are being utilized by the System.
- Assist utilities to ensure premium efficiency equipment is in place, conserve energy and reduce power costs by working to develop new SOP with the operator.
- Evaluate buildings to ensure energy efficient doors, windows, and insulation are in place to conserve energy.
- Provide a cost benefit analysis showing how long it takes to pay for new equipment with Energy Saved.
- Support budgeting of Energy-Saving equipment.
- Provide a Report prioritizing improvements based on quick pay back improvements being done first.
- Review alternative power options including solar, hydro and thermal.
- Provide sources for funding the recommended improvements.
- CRWA and NRWA have secured a grant to offer a FREE ENERGY ASSESSMENT
